Pausing for a Breather

I've been busy lately!  It's wonderful when I have work, but I think I'm going to take a wee break now that all of my editing for clients is done.  My last shoot was of my friend's dog, Chester.  She needed some conformation shots of him for his stud book.  I've never done anything like that before so it was quite interesting.  Getting him to stand square was a challenge, but I think I got some shots that will work.  Images of him turned away from me while looking back towards me, however, was nearly impossible!  I'll have to re-try those ones another day.  Overall, Chester did really well and he's such a handsome boy!

I still have a ton of my own photos to edit!  Horse photos, camping photos and about 300 rodeo photos!!  Whew!  It's going to take me a while to get through them all.  I am looking forward to the rest of the summer though!  I have an engagement shoot in a few weeks and the wedding in Sept!  So excited!!  (My first solo wedding shoot - no pressure LOL!)  We're going over to Hornby in a couple of weeks too, so I hope I get some good images over there as well:)

Bye for now!  *Deep breath*

Meet Max!

I had the pleasure of photographing Max a couple of weeks ago.  He was so well behaved the entire time!  He stayed awake and happy and even kept facing my camera, such a good model!  He was super handsome too, gorgeous blue eyes and the most amazing reddish/brown hair.  He's going to be a looker for sure!!  I had a heck of a time going through all the frames because liked so many of them...hence all the samples you are getting now!  Enjoy!

Meet Oliver!

My friends Marek and Steph had their second child last month, a beautiful boy named Oliver!  He is quite the charmer and is incredibly handsome:)  He has the most wonderful, full lips (second only to his big sis, Isla, I think)!  I had a great time photographing him and I hope to get some more as he gets older.

Here he is!

Miss Izzy

Since I was home recovering from some dental surgery this past week, I decided to do another photo shoot with Isabelle.  Didn't go as well as I imagined, lots of running laps around the room and fussing about itchy dresses, but I got a few shots that were half decent.  She's really into making silly faces now (in case you can't tell LOL!).

I did a photo shoot with adorable baby Oliver last week and I've almost finished editing, so I'll get those up soon too:)

Spring Is Almost Here

I think that Spring is around the corner (it's hard to tell with all the wind, rain and cool temps), so here are some tulip pics to celebrate!  I got these for my B-Day (thanks Madeline!) and promptly dissected them to do some macro shots, enjoy!

Reminiscing

With all the cold, rainy, windy weather we've been having lately I've been reminiscing about our time in the Okanagan this past summer.  It was so nice to have a new location to shoot...but VI isn't too shabby, so I think I'll be ok!  I even have a couple spots in mind for a water fowl shoot the next time I have some free time and decent weather.  Until then, here are a couple of panos I made up (both 5x12"):

Horse Crazy!

Lucky me has had the opportunity to test my equine photography skills over the past couple of months!  It's something that I've always wanted to try my hand at (since I'm a horse nut) and now that I'm leasing I've been given free reign sorta speak!  Here are some for you to check out, I'll be posting my fav's on my site shortly.  PLEASE leave some feedback :)

Meet Sawyer!

This is Sawyer, isn't he adorable?!  I love his chubby cheeks ;)  I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to take some pictures of him and his brother, Evan, a couple of weeks ago.  They were both great in front of the camera and I had a wonderful time hanging out with them!  Two handsome boys for sure!

Farewell

My brother moved out East a few weeks ago, but luckily I talked him into posing for a few pictures before he left (not an easy feat).  He's a very descriptive writer and detailed artist so I wanted to shoot in a way that would reflect the dark and sometimes twisted perspective of the worlds he creates.  I think the second shot catches who he is perfectly!  He has now moved to a new city to pursue his dream of turning his latest script into a movie.  I wish him all the best in his endeavors and can't wait to see his amazing script brought to life on the big screen :)
