Finally got around to editing my rodeo pics, it only took me an eon! Honestly, I'm not very keen on any of them...it was pouring rain, dark and dreary...I had a heck of a time getting the shutter speeds I needed without cranking my ISO waaaay up (which I try to avoid doing at all costs)...so, ya not terribly impressed. I will, however, post up some of them for your viewing pleasure, or maybe dis-pleasure LOL!
And, a pic of Ty because who wouldn't want to see him on a horse ;)
Pictures from Sunday at the show. Love this first horse, he was quite the character! Totally posing over the jump and his flapping lip in the second shot makes him look like he's smiling LOL!
I wasn't able to make it to day one of the hunter show, but I did shoot for a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday. Here are my favs from day two:
I spent a couple of hours this morning shooting the second day of a three day hunter show at Lochside Lane. It was fun, can't wait to take more pics tomorrow:)
Here's a preview for now (dang, that reminds me I still need to finish editing the rodeo pics!):
I went to the rodeo this past weekend with my daughter and gal pals (yeehaw!) and had a great time! I only went one day instead of two like last year, so I didn't take as many pics...but it was still fun:) Got to see Ty Elliot in TWO events (team penning and bull riding), so I was pretty excited about that! He did really well in the bull riding...but what's up with him moving to AB!?!?! Why would he do that to me?!? LOL! Ok I digress...
I'm not too happy with my shots this year. It was cloudy and dreary and I had a hard time keeping my shutter speeds fast enough. I might not even post many pics...I'm in a "Blah" photography mood at the moment in case you can't tell.
Here's one so-so shot for now, I've got lots of editing to do!
Boy was I stoked when I turned James out into the ring last week and he started blasting around AND I had my camera with me! Would have preferred to have shot him running around in the field, but that's ok I'll work with what I've got:) He was so full of himself, running around, snorting, bucking and rearing! (I'm sure the fact that I was running back and forth behind the fence egging him on had nothing to do with it *cough cough* LOL!) I hadn't seen him that amped up in a while, it was hilarious! I think he really wanted back out in the field, but sadly for him I wanted to ride...and, he did end up warming himself up which was a bonus.
Enough chat, here are the pics of Mr. Personality:
(BTW, this is why he wasn't clean for our impromptu shoot haha!)
Think this is my new fav pic:)
And, yes I did let him back out!
Had to throw in this pic of his pasture buddy, Minette.
Finally got the chance to shoot James blasting around the ring last week. Here's a teaser until I get all the editing done:)
Wanted to take some random pics so that I could test out how CS6 handles RAW files (I'm trying the beta), so of course the barn is where I headed! This purdy horse is one of three stabled at the property behind the barn where I lease James...the cool old tree is on their land too I believe :)
My aunt and uncle rescued a little Chi last week from the SPCA. She's so tiny, I think about 3.5 lbs, and very cuddly! I'll have to go back another time for better pics (when my daughter isn't there being a distraction LOL!). For now, here's one:
I can hardly wait until the weather starts improving! I have lots of ideas for shoots! In the mean time it's more barn pics...but, this time it's of my new lease horse, James. (And, yes I know I go through horses like socks, but it's not on purpose I swear! I want a long term lease, unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way yet.) James is full of personality and I'm looking forward to getting some action shots of him. He loves to run around, bucking and rearing, it's very amusing :) For these shots he was kinda tired though...and so was I...plus my camera battery was about to die...so I only took a few detail shots.
